"Nothing But Scraps" is a fiber art piece that makes use of found items to create a fun-to-wear piece of jewelry. It's crafted from "beads" made from recycled plastic drinking straws and denim strips from worn jeans. Embroidery floss and lengths of metallic sewing thread are used to embellish the beads. They are strung together with craft store accent beads to develop a color story. The satisfaction of upcycling items that would be discarded, along with the element of surprise in combining the random bits and pieces, is truly rewarding.
