I am inspired by the beautiful textures and colors of the world all around us. This piece is called "Rising Sun Blues" as it was the favorite song of Macey Mac, my counterpart from Couch Sessions. The song "The House of the Rising Sun" is a tale of a person’s life gone wrong in New Orleans. However, to hear her sing it it is a thing of beauty and you forget the sadness. I chose to create a sunset because at the end of the day we are all trying our best, even when things go wrong. This is my reminder that God’s mercies renew everyday and that we all have a purpose here. I just finished this piece earlier this month and am excited to give new life and meaning to it.
